Ed & Karen Valantine
Hi, I’m Ed Valantine, the founder of Valantine Roofing. My journey in this trade began in 1972 when I started working for a small home improvement company shortly after graduating from Austintown Fitch High School. Just a few years later, in 1975, I took a leap of faith and started my own roofing business with one simple goal in mind: to build a company that people could trust.
Over the decades, our company has grown, but the heart of the business has remained grounded in faith, integrity, and service. Throughout my life, I’ve been deeply involved in my church community and mission work, including helping to build 23 churches, a school, and 13 water wells in Sierra Leone, West Africa with the Hope Project. I’ve also had the privilege of coaching youth sports, teaching Sunday school, and serving on multiple church boards and programs.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our yearly initiative to replace roofs for families in need, right here in our Valley.
I’m a husband, a father of two, and a proud grandfather of six. These days, I focus on mentoring the next generation at Valantine Roofing, ensuring the same values that built this company are carried forward for years to come.
Chris Polacek
Chris brings over 15 years of sales experience and a lifetime of hands-on knowledge to Valantine Roofing. Growing up, he worked alongside his uncle Ed, learning the trade from the ground up before officially joining the business. For the past five years, Chris has served as General Manager and Roofing Advisor, helping homeowners navigate their roofing needs with honesty and expertise.
A proud Air Force veteran, Chris completed two tours in Iraq and Kuwait before returning home to build his career. He is a licensed insurance adjuster and an Owens Corning Certified professional, specializing in insurance-related roofing work and guiding customers through the claims process with ease.
Originally from McDonald, Chris now makes his home in Columbiana County with his wife. He enjoys time with his daughter and son. Outside of work, Chris enjoys going to concerts, hiking, camping, and spending time at the beach. A lifelong sports fan, he cheers for Ohio State, all Pittsburgh teams, and especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
